How to solve the problem of poor carton forming in a case packers?

Poor carton forming is primarily caused by inadequate crease pressing or incorrect paper feeding. First, check if the crease rollers are pressing deeply and straight enough, then confirm that the cardboard is aligned correctly during paper feeding.

Creasing issues are the most common. Inadequate crease pressing or vibration of the crease rollers can cause misalignment of the flaps and scissor errors during carton forming. The solution is to adjust the crease depth to ensure clear and straight lines. If the carton flaps are misaligned, you can add a retaining line or reverse crease to the die-cutting base plate to assist forming.

Incorrect paper feeding can also cause crease tilting. Check if the guide rollers are vibrating and whether the speeds of the two conveyor belts are synchronized. A belt surface that is too smooth will not grip the cardboard tightly and requires regular inspection and replacement.

How to adjust the pressure rollers of a case packer?

Specific Adjustment Steps:

Inspection and Cleaning: First, turn off the power and remove paper scraps and oil stains from the crease rollers and surrounding area.

Pre-crease Roller Adjustment: Adjust the pre-crease roller gap to half the thickness of the cardboard. For example, set the pre-crease roller gap to 3mm for 6mm cardboard.

Creasing Roller Adjustment: Adjust the crease roller gap to 2-2.5mm to avoid excessive depth that could cause cracking.

Equipment Parallelism: Ensure the crease and pre-crease data of the printing press are parallel to avoid numerical deviations caused by long-term use.

Testing and Fine-tuning: Start the machine for a trial run and observe the crease effect. If cracking or poor forming occurs, gradually fine-tune the gap, retesting after each adjustment.

Common Problem Handling:

Carton Cracking: Check the cardboard moisture content (maintain 8%-10%), the folding endurance of the base paper, and adjust the crease depth.

Poor carton forming: Check the correction wheel pattern (slanted wheel + belt assembly or belt + straight wheel), and adjust the belt angle and creasing wheel pressure.

Equipment malfunction: Regularly check the wear of the creasing wheels and pre-pressing wheels, and replace damaged parts promptly.

Maintenance recommendations:
Clean the equipment regularly, avoiding the use of chemical cleaners.
Regularly lubricate critical parts, such as bearings and chains.
Regularly check and tighten screws to ensure stable equipment operation.

What are some precautions for the daily maintenance of a case packer?

The core of daily maintenance for a case packing machine is proper cleaning, lubrication, inspection, and tightening. For cleaning, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and clean critical internal parts regularly, but avoid using corrosive cleaning agents.
